Stockholm, Mar.25(ChinaEuropeDialogue) — The conflict between Russia and Ukraine has lasted for a month and a day today. The two side have had four rounds of talks without much progress.

Many countries and leaders called on China to mediate between the two sides to stop the conflict and mainly for Russia to stop attacking.

In their opinion, as long as Chinese President Xi Jinping asked Putin to stop, Putin will stop. At the same time, the western countries continue to support Ukraine to resist.

This won’t work. That is exactly as what Chinese Ambassador to America Qin Gang said. President Xi talked with President Putin just the day after the latter started the attack. Xi told Putin to solve the problem through negotiation. Putin agreed and three days later, that was February 28, the two sides held their first round of talks in Belarus. It was the Russian side who initiated the talks and waited for Ukraines in Belarus.

The second round took place on March the 3rd, the two sides reached agreement in setting up a humanitarian corridor.

The third round of talks was held on March 7. The two sides really talked about substantial content on Russians three requirements. But Ukraine rejected saying that Ukraine will not surrender.

Russian’s three requirements are: 1. Ukraine never joins any military organization, get rid of joining the NATO from the constitution.

2. Ukraine recognizes Creamia as part of Russian land.

3. Dimilitarize and denatsetize Ukraine.

Ukraine rejects Russian demands. On the contrary, Ukraine demands Russia stop attacking, withdraw its troops completely from Ukraine. Compensate Ukraine for 500 billion dollars of damage for future reconstruction.

Then the two sides agreed to continue to talk online.

On March,10, Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov and Ukrainian Foreign Minister Kuleba met in Turkey. But Kuleba said that Ukraine would not surrender because Ukraine was not defeated yet. Ukraine didn’t like Russian’s ultimatum.

On March 15th, the two sides held the fourth round of talks online. But there was no result.

Then there were more weapons delivered to Ukraine and Ukraine President Zelensky began to have talks in various countries and EU. He called on more help to Ukraine saying that Ukraine was determined to fight to the end.

But he also talked about negotiation with Russia since there was no hope to join neither NATO nor EU. But when he became a little bit hesitant, the United States began to give him more encouragement.

He was invited to talk in the American congress and Biden signed more assistance up to 2 billion US dollars of weapons to Ukraine.

This made Ukraine have to continue to fight without any way going back.

Since March 17th, the two sides didn’t talk about peace talk any more only waiting for Biden’s coming to Europe.

On March 24th, Biden really came to Brussels and then to Poland to eat Pizza with the soldiers there.

Polish President failed to meet Biden due to technical problems of the airplane.

Since March 17th, Russian foreign Minister Lavrov accused Ukraine of listening to the US and having no intention to really negotiate a peace agreement.

Indeed, Zelensky has talked in France, Germany, Japan, Britain, Sweden and even Italy. So now Zelensky has no choice of stopping the war but going on.

During a BBC interview with Boris Johnson, Johnson said Putin didn’t want to stop the war.

He said very lightly that of course he wants peace too, but unlikely there will be.

So it sounds that the west wishes for peace, but no one wants to speak up their minds because it is as if that will show their weakness. So they only talk about progress in Ukraine’s battle field and closed down Russian’s broadcasting on Radio and TV and online.

It is as if they don’t hear it or see it, Ukraine will win in the end. They seem not to care how many lives to die.

They just worried that if Putin wins, he might fight with other countries too. But so far, Russia seems to build a security belt between Russia and Ukraine. So Russian troops mainly attacked eastern part of Ukraine, but not much in the western part. Only one training center was considered as military target.

It seems both sides wish the other side bow down. But neither will do that.

In order to achieve peace, the two sides have to be clear what you can compromise. Without compromise, it is difficult to reach any agreement.

Military action is also for peace negotiation. Although both sides got severe casualties, and sanctions against Russia also caused a lot of damages to the imposers, in the end, the two sides have to go back to the negotiation table.

It can end up at the beginning. Even though a lot of lives have lost.

During the negotiations on the third or fourth round, people said they might finish the signing document by May.

That means there will be another month to go and the two sides have to think where they should stand for.

It is hoped that Ukraine can think clearly where they stand and Russian side should also think the war cannot go on forever.

You got to stop it as soon as possible for the sake of a better world.
