Recently a friend of mine sent me twice the yellow roses. They were beautiful, but it reminded me a joke by a town fellow about her Canadian boyfriend who sent her yellow flowers.

She said she found in the end that he bought the yellow flower from a shop which sells things for dead people.

When the Chinese condole someone, they usually gave yellow flower or white flower. They ususally like red flower because red symbolizes life, liveliness, vitality and enthusiasm.

The yellow flower symbolizes death and sadness.

Maybe this is the difference between east and west. Sometimes we really do not understand each other very well. We maybe really love each other or like each other, but there are some misunderstanding too.

I hope we can understand each other better. Maybe for rose, any kind is good. But the white one usually is used for the dead.
