Stockholm, Feb.18(ChinaEuropeDialogue) –It’s history for Ailing (Eileen) Gu.

The Chinese athlete becomes the first freeskier to win three medals at a single Olympic Games, adding to big air gold and slopestyle silver with halfpipe gold.

Defending champion Cassie Sharpe of Canada settles for silver, while Sharpe’s teammate Rachael Karker wins bronze. Karker gets a big hug from Sharpe after finishing her last run.

Gu is already guaranteed gold before her final run with that stomping second run. She celebrates at the top of the halfpipe after the result is confirmed. She’s in happy tears.

The Chinese takes a celebration third run down the halfpipe with lots of big air, but no tricks.

At the bottom, she’s met by the two Canadians as the trio hug it out, telling each other “I’m so proud of you”. A heart-warming moment.
