The economic expert praised the determination and courage of the Chinese people in their fight against the pandemic and pursuit of economic recovery and growth.
BAKU, Dec. 5 (Xinhua) — China has demonstrated high efficiency in the fight against COVID-19, an Azerbaijani economic expert has said.
“We saw that the country with the most population actually came out of this struggle with good results,” said Elshad Mammadov, professor of Azerbaijan State University of Economics, in a recent interview with Xinhua.
The economic expert also praised the determination and courage of the Chinese people in their fight against the pandemic and pursuit of economic recovery and growth.

China manages its economic development with such “efficiency” that has sustained “the big progress of this country in recent years,” the expert said. “In China today the economic model contributes to the transformation of this country into an economic leader.”
Hailing China as “the locomotive of economic development for the world for decades,” Mammadov believed Azerbaijan can learn a lot from China in terms of managing its economy.
The expert also sees a new opportunity for stronger and richer Azerbaijan-China relations within the framework of the China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative, a global development plan which involves infrastructure development, trade and investment facilitation aimed at boosting connectivity on a trans-continental scale. ■ Xinhua
